We’re taking the first step in creating an Active Transportation Plan (ATP) for Uwchlan Township, and we need your help to make it as strong and impactful as possible!
The goal of this plan is simple: to develop realistic, cost-effective solutions that make it easier and safer for all of us to walk, bike, and get around our community. Whether you’re heading to a park, commuting to work, or just taking a stroll through your neighborhood, your experience matters.
Put your experience on the map
To build a plan that truly reflects our community’s needs, we’re asking residents to participate in our interactive, map-based survey. This tool allows you to share your personal experiences and observations—what’s working well, what could be improved, and where you’d like to see better connections or safer routes.
Why your input matters
As we work to improve walkability, connectivity, accessibility, and safety across the Township, your feedback helps us:
Identify areas of concern
Understand how residents currently travel
Highlight opportunities for new or improved routes
Prioritize projects that matter most to the community
This plan is about creating a safer, more connected Uwchlan Township for everyone. The more feedback we receive, the better we can understand the needs of our community and turn those insights into meaningful improvements.
We encourage you to take a few minutes to explore the map and share your perspective.
With Spring here, we know many residents will be gearing up to clear their yards and gardens. That’s why we want to let you know about an upcoming collection change for yard waste.
From April 20, 2026, instead of picking up all yard waste in one day, collection will be spread from Monday to Thursday on selected weeks throughout the year. This is to help Whitetail Disposal better collect all the yard waste in the township effectively.
Find out your collection day
Your collection day will depend on where you live. Residents will receive a postcard stating what your collection day will be. Whitetail Disposal has also created a map which shows which areas will be collected each day.
Upper Uwchlan Township and Uwchlan Township are excited to be back for another friendly competition to see which Township can collect the most food items to donate to the Chester County Food Bank!
From April 1 to April 30, 2026, both Townships are collecting donations.
Please drop off your donations to our Township Building Lobby at 715 N. Ship Rd, Exton. The Lobby will be open from 8am to 8pm every day during April.
If you find yourself behind enemy lines, you can still donate to the cause at the Upper Uwchlan Township Building, located at 140 Pottstown Pike, Chester Springs.
*Please note that the Chester County Food Bank prefers items that are not in glass.
From March 9, Aqua Pennsylvania will begin the installation of 7,100 feet of new water main on the following streets in Uwchlan Township, Chester County:
Crump Road from N Whitford Rd to Glendale Rd
Baker Drive and Baker Circle
Glendale Road from Crump Road to Concord Avenue
Allen Drive from N Whitford Road to the end of the cul-de-sac past Glendale Road
This is part of an infrastructure improvement program.
Construction will generally take place on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Access will be provided for school buses, emergencies, mail and trash services. Residents will have access to their properties, but at times will need to enter from different directions, when possible, due to changing work zones.
Following installation, the new main will be flushed, chlorinated and tested for water quality before being placed into service. During the chlorination/testing phase, activity on the job site may be limited. It is important to note the trench will be covered with temporary blacktop at the end of each workday. Permanent restoration will take place in the summer of 2026.
Questions or concerns
AQUA will have an inspector on the job each day to answer questions. You can also call AQUA directly at (610) 430 0747 ext. 55077.
We're partnering with West Chester University to better understand what it's like to live, work and spend time in Uwchlan Township.
Your feedback will help guide the Township's 5-year strategic plan and identify what's working well, where we can improve, and what matters most to you when it comes to the quality of life in our community.
Please take our survey to share your experiences, priorities, and ideas for the future! It only takes about 15 minutes to complete and is open to all residents and community members.
