We’re expecting a wintery mix of weather overnight Wednesday, February 5, and early Thursday, February 6. This could include freezing rain, icy conditions, and snowfall. Our Road Department will be working to salt and plow roads as the weather system moves through.

When driving near plow trucks, prioritize safety for yourself and plow operators by following these guidelines:

• Maintain a Safe Distance – stay at least six car lengths behind an operating plow truck. Remember, the main plow is wider than the truck itself.
• Do not attempt to pass – never attempt to pass a truck while it is plowing or spreading winter materials. There are blind spots, where the operator can’t see your vehicle. Plows can also move sideways when hitting drifts or heavy snow.
• Be Patient - allow extra time for travel, slow down, and stay alert.
• Yield to oncoming Plows - when a plow truck is approaching from the opposite direction, move as far away from the center of the road as safely possible, as snow can obscure the actual width of the plow.

Remember: For snowfall more than one inch, parking in the street is prohibited. 

• Please remove vehicles and other objects from the street.
• When shoveling driveways and sidewalks, do not move snow into the street.

This allows our plows to clear the roads safely and efficiently.
