[ARCHIVED] 150+ attendees explore Baird House and Park

NF Town Tour event

Last week’s Town Tour and Village Walks event was a resounding success, with over 150 attendees coming together to explore the rich history of Baird House and Park!

The event, organized by the Uwchlan Township Historical Commission and supported by the Environmental Advisory Council (EAC), featured 15 stations scattered throughout the grounds, each offering a unique glimpse into the history and contemporary changes of the property.

History enthusiasts were treated to informative talks at each station, provided by knowledgeable members of the Historical Commission and the EAC. Highlights of the tour included the Veteran’s Memorial, the rediscovered and restored Pugh Room, the historic spring and replica log houses, the original 1775 date stone of the building, and a newly installed outdoor chessboard by Henry Michael of Boy Scouts Troop #216.

Attendees also learned about the changes to the ponds, trees, and gardens on the property, providing a comprehensive understanding of the area’s evolution over time.

Tour Presentation available

If you missed the event, we invite you to watch our brief ten-minute presentation which is available on our YouTube channel. It offers an outline of the overall tour and key insights shared during the evening.

Baird Park is one of our public parks! We invite you to come and enjoy its serene environment. Whether it's fishing in the ponds, playing a game of outdoor chess, or simply taking in the natural beauty, the park offers a range of activities for all.

Additionally, the restored Pugh Room is available for public viewing during office hours. Visitors are encouraged to stop in and ask for a look into this beautifully restored space.
